December Prayer Diary

    Sunday 3rd That God’s power and Spirit would move amongst us.

Monday 4th  For Kinlochleven school assembly, as scripture is shared today. 

Tuesday 5th Lochaber Presbytery meets. Pray for encouragement and God’s empowering grace.

Wednesday 6th  For the coming Sunday, as the minister prepares.

Thursday 7th  On Thursdays many people wear black in protest against gender-based violence and discrimination. Pray for victims of violence and discrimination.

Friday 8th   Kinlochleven Guild Christmas sale, for Christmas joy.

Saturday 9th  My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people. (Isaiah 56:7) May it be so!

Sunday 10th That God would be at work amongst us today. Also for the joint Kinlochleven evening carol service.

Monday 11th Abbeyfield Ballachulish were nominated the best Care Home Service of 2017; give thanks for this.

Tuesday 12th ‘As the holly bears a berry as red as any blood, so Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ to do us sinners good’. Pray that we all know the cleansing of Christ’s blood that washes away sin.

Wednesday 13th  Today and Thurday 14th St Bride’s School  Christmas nativity; let’s pray for the children.

Thursday 14th And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word. (Luke 1: 38) That we might respond likewise.

Friday 15th  ‘Quench not the Spirit’ (1 Thess 5:19) Ask God to fill you with his Spirit. 

Saturday 16th Have you talked to God today? Ask him to do something new in your life.

Sunday 17th  For the gospel preaching today; and for the Abbeyfield Christmas service.


Monday 18th The angel said Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. (Luke 1:30) 


Tuesday 19th  The angel said to Mary, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women. (Luke 1:28)


Wednesday 20th Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and said to Mary, Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? (Luke 1:42-43)


Thursday 21st For the school services today and tomorrow.


Friday 22nd And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed’. (Luke 2:1)


Saturday 23rd   The angel appeared unto Joseph in a dream saying, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS for he shall save his people from their sins’. (Matthew 1:20-21)

Sunday 24th And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in the manger, for there was no room for them in the inn. (Luke 2:7)


Monday 25th  Unto you this day is born in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  (Luke 2:11)


Tuesday 26th And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God. (Luke 2:13) Let us praise Him too.


Wednesday 27th  Let us now go even unto Bethlehem and see this thing which has come to pass, which the Lord has made known unto us. (Luke 2:15) We thank God for this wonderful thing.


Thursday 28th As we meditate on your love to us, be near us, now and always, Jesus of the crib, Jesus of the cross.

Friday 29th The shepherds came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger. (Luke 2:16)


Saturday 30th The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God. (Luke 2:20) May we prepare to praise God also.


Sunday 31st For God’s blessings as the year ends.
